Robin’s Park in Blantyre was fully packed on Sunday afternoon as King James Phiri launched his album Mukumane ndi Moyo Wanga to erase memories of his entry into the industry two years ago when he performed to a denumerable audience at Comesa Hall as he launched his debut Amayankha Yesu.

The fact that his fans were packed in Robin’s Park, despite the launch falling mid-month, was a sign that the artist, whose songs have lately become the most played gospel songs on local radio stations, has earned a place in gospel music circles.

The artist did not just get support from the fans, but from fellow musicians too as his launch was supported by Steve Muliya who gave an energetic performance that saw the fully packed dance floor hypnotised in dance.

Ndirande Anglican Voices impressed with their choral performance of Ndikumva Kukoma which the audience sang along.

Ethel Kamwendo almost stole the show with a performance of Usachoke and the reggae song Awiri Akakondana. At the helm of her performance, Ethel told the patrons to take a cloth, or a top that they have and wave it in the air to shame the devil.

King James Phiri felt the love from the patrons they cheered upon his entry on stage.

The artist performed a hymn Mundilandire and manganje styled praise and worship song Ndinu Woyera before breaking for the auction of the CD and DVD. The artist came back on stage after the auction to serenade patrons with Mukumane ndi Moyo Wanga before signing out with Dzuka Yona.
