Kinnah Phiri yet to decide on government offer

Former national football coach Kinnah Phiri has said he is still consulting his lawyers on whether he should accept his redeployment to the regional sports office in the North.

Government reallocated Kinnah, his former deputy Young Chimodzi and technical adviser Jack Chamangwana to regional sports offices under Sports Council following FAM’s decision to remove them from the Flames.

“The process of consultation is still going on and as such I was advised not to comment on the issue. Hopefully, by this month-end something should come up and I will be able to determine my future,” said Kinnah.

He also said while there are a few job opportunities abroad, he cannot commit himself until the issue is finalised.

Apart from Kenyan top club AFC Leopards, unconfirmed reports indicate that some clubs in Botswana and Swaziland have also shown interest to consider him for a coaching job.

Chimodzi and Chamangwana accepted the redeployment, but said they would wait for their terms of reference.
