Kip’s White have vowed to beat Oriental Cricket Club (OCC) by as many runs as possible at Mpingwe Sports Club (MSC) on Sunday to top group-B of the Inter-Club 25-overs Cricket Tournament and keep alive their hopes of winning two trophies this season.

White won the 20-overs contest two months ago and they are currently second to MSC Silver on the log-table with six points from three wins and they have to triumph over third-placed OCC by at least 30 runs to take the lead.

Last weekend, White made 177 runs, with Ahsan Jonti making an individual contribution of 49 runs, to beat OG Plastic Blue by seven runs but the team’s captain Karamat Chaudhry is confident of achieving the 30 run margin against OCC.

“We have intensified our preparations for our game on Sunday. We are ready to prove that we are the best cricket team,” he said.

Silver are on top of group-B with eight points following four-straight victories, including 230-203 runs beating of OCC.

Brothers Sohel rand Aasif Rustam made 52 and 56 runs respectively, for Silver. Shakil Patel made 55 runs and Jayender Kher 31 runs but their effort were not enough to grant OCC a win.

In other games, group A leaders MSC Orange will take on MSC Green at OCC in the morning before MSC Black meet MSC Blue in the afternoon. At MSC, a game between MSC Grey and MSC Purple will follow White versus OCC match.
