Prophet David Mbewe of Living Word Evangelistic Church on New Year’s Day challenged Malawians to know their God who has taken them through to 2013, saying the Lord will meet their needs.

Mbewe made the appeal during the Night of Glory that took place at Chancellor College Great Hall that drew together partners from Mozambique and across Malawi.

“We have crossed over from 2012 to 2013 and God has a purpose for us. Our theme for 2013 is ‘I know my God who will sort out my problems and see me sail through.’ Be people of prayer, pray for Malawi for I can see hope for all Malawians,” he said.

The prayers climaxed with lighting of candles symbolising light and hope for Malawians.

The church began in Malosa in Zomba and has branches in Manchester in UK.

“We have lined up special prayers from January and with fine artists like Pastor Wycliff Chimwendo and Glorious Land Praise Team. People should expect a lot from God in 2013 and see how faithful He is. Wait, the Lord will not disappoint you,” said Mbewe.

Those in attendance were entertained with songs from veteran gospel musician Chimwendo and the Glorious Land Praise Team.

Chimwendo described the event as a night full of revelations, anointing and deliverance.
