Kumwenda joins Kaputa as CAF instructor
National Coaches Committee (NCC) acting general secretary Benjamin Kumwenda returned from Cameroon on Sunday so happy after qualifying as a Confederation of African Football (CAF) coaches’ instructor.
“It means I can be an assessor for CAF B and C coaching courses whereas John Kaputa can do both A and B. I am so happy, I was there already for a preliminary course and from the 10 that attended the new CAF instructors’ course, I was among those that got picked again for a follow-up course,” Kumwenda said on Tuesday.
The Mponela United technical director’s ultimate career ambition is to qualify as a Fifa coaches’ instructor.
CAF recently promoted Kaputa to CAF senior instructor; the first Malawian to get such recognition.
Kumwenda’s football qualifications include CAF B and C licences. He awaits results for CAF A licence following a course he attended last month at FAM. Kaputa insists results are not yet out.
