Malawi’s Minister of Information Moses Kunkuyu’s political journey might have taken off when Manase Churches of Christ gave him a Bible during the campaign for a parliamentary seat.

So, to thank the church, last Sunday the minister visited the congregation where he pledged to donate K20 000 (about $80) for a building project.

Quoting Exodus 14:8, 27, Kunkuyu reminded the church that God told Israelites that the enemies who were persecuting them would not be there forever.

“As God reminded the Israelites, those problems they were facing will not be there forever. I want to challenge you that our God is the God that changes situations. He changed the situation of Malawi and He can change yours today,” he said.

Resident minister for the church Reverend Lemani Kamdidi pledged to continue praying for the minister while in government.

“Make peace with everybody if possible and we will continue praying for your success in all your endeavours. God indeed fought the good battle for Malawi, but we should always remember to make peace with others.
