Lab Enterprise golf matchplay in final stage

Pairs of Donbell Mandala and Edwin Chipala, and Stella and Zachariah Hara have qualified for the finals of the Lab Enterprise Matchplay Golf Tournament.

The Hara couple beat the pair of David Nyirenda and Steve Chanje on Tuesday whereas Mandala and Chipala saw-off Gabriel Kambale and Harold Jiya’s spirited challenge in the semi-finals on Sunday at Blantyre Sports Club.

Mandala and Chipala will face the Haras in the finals slated for December 9 at the same venue. The two said they are excited about making it to the final. They also hailed Lab Enterprise for sponsoring the event.

“There were 32 pairs and to reach the finals is not an easy feat. We look forward to an exciting final against the Haras,” said Mandala.

Lab Enterprise managing director Noel Lipipa said they are impressed with the level of competition.

“It has been exciting right from the word go and we are optimistic that the excitement will go on right to the end,” said Lipipa.

He said they sponsor golf as one way of giving back to the community.
