Most likely following in the footsteps of the country’s successful writers such as Jack Mapanje, Legson Kayira and Sambalikagwa Mvona, soldier, journalist and actor Mike Langa-Lulanga has penned down his debut novel, Free the mind of the Youths.

According to Langa-Lulanga, the novel, to be published in December this year, discusses issues that shape young people’s everyday lives.

“My editor has told me that he will be done by end of this week. I am happy that he is impressed with the work,” he said.

The book will be printed at H&D Printers in Lilongwe.

Langa-Lulanga said he is still looking for money for printing.

Apart from tackling issues affecting the youths, the writer revealed that the story revolves around social and spiritual lives of young people and how they can make it in life.

“The theme comes from 2 Timothy 2:22 and it provides scripture-based solutions to drug, alcoholism and sexual immorality addictions among youths and adults who have been trying to free themselves from these addictions, but have failed,” said Langa-Lulanga.
