“At least I can jog without feeling any pain,” Lanjesi said yesterday.

Flames coach Ernest Mtawali said he was keeping fingers crossed that the defender would be fully fit by the end of the week.

“He has joined training and we hope to see him improving. Let’s hope he will be fully fit by the end of the week,” said Mtawali.

The return of Lanjesi should give Mtawali headache on who to pick between him and Miracle Gabeya, who has was outstanding in central defence position during the match against Namibia.

“We have 20 players here and I cannot say now who will play or will not play against Angola,” Mtawali said.

Meanwhile, midfielder Isaac Kaliyati, who missed the trip to Zimbabwe due to an injury but joined the team in Namibia, is also available for selection.

“He seems to have recovered. So far he has not complained,” said Mtawali.

Malawi play their opening Group B game against Angola on Sunday at Independence Stadium. n
