Lawi said this will be his first time to hold own show in Blantyre; hence, looking forward to it.

Lawi said: “Indeed, this will be a live experience with Lawi and the Mango band because it will be our own first show ever. We have performed in Blantyre before, but this is going to be a concert of its kind because it will strictly feature Lawi and his Mango band.”

Lawi is one of the country’s favourite artists whose music and stage prowess rock. His new album which features popular tracts such as Amaona Kuchedwa took the entertainment industry by storm.

Aside the publicity, Lawi’s album has helped him to land lucrative deals with Non-Governmental Organisations (NGOs) such as Plan Malawi where he is involved in a project which advances the rights of a girl – child.

The Sunday’s event has been designed to suit family entertainment, according to Yamikani Kalizang’oma the director of Mawu Productions.

He said: “The unique aspect about this event is that it has been organised in a family entertainment and corporate fashion. And M-Theatre is just another neutral venue in Blantyre which does not only offer patrons including families maximum security, but also entertainment under a cool environment.”

Basically, Live Experience seeks to develop individual music stars who command an audience of their own. It puts much emphasis on providing them with the necessary materials such as professional sound engineering and equipment for them to utilise and make an impression.

Kalizang’oma said: “As Mawu Productions, we have decided to invest in this project in order to contribute to the development of Malawi music industry thereby bringing diversity in the way events are organised. We are here to stay and make a difference.” n
