LDDL qualifiers at Chesterfield on Saturday

The Lilongwe and Districts Darts League (LDDL) on Saturday holds the Darts Association of Malawi (DAM) Cup national qualifiers at Chesterfield in Area 18B, Lilongwe.

According to the league’s general secretary, Chester Kayange, national defending champions Capital Glass, Combat Support Battalion, Hazards and Black Arrows will battle out on a round-robin format for the top three positions.

“The games will start from 8am and we are expecting all the teams to be punctual to witness the draw. The national finals will have seven teams with South and North contributing two teams each. As hosts, we have been privileged to have three teams,” he said.

Kayange, who plays for Capital Glass, said they are anticipating stiff competition as evidenced during the regional play-offs.

Capital Glass captain Joe Zangazanga, who is also DAM general secretary, said they are on track to defend the national title.

“On Saturday, we won the Royale Chemicals Malawi Championship and we now have all the national silverware in our shelf. This shows how optimistic and serious the team is. We are looking forward to defending this cup,” said Zangazanga.

The national finals will be played on December 1 at Capital City Motel.
