Let’s remember our fathers today!

First of all, let me commend Nation Publications Limited for creating a hype around Father’s Day in Malawi. Prior to that, most Malawians never really focused on the role fathers play in raising children and the day was often ignored.

Presently, I know quite a few people who are actually planning big things for their fathers and spouses, thanks to NPL! As a father, though, I would like to urge families to do something special in appreciation of the work we do for our families. You know, most of us pay the rent, make sure the family has food and shelter so that they can be happy.

Nowadays, a lot of fathers are actually taking an interest in their children’s lives! We look forward to spending time with them and love the fact that we can build relationships with both male and female children. I think we should be commended for this!
