FAM has announced that the Flames international friendly match against Liberia’s Lone Star will be played on September 4 at Samuel Doe Sports Complex in Monrovia.

Football Association of Malawi (FAM) chief executive officer Suzgo Nyirenda said: “We are pleased to announce that arrangements for the international friendly match against Liberia have been finalised.”

Nyirenda said Liberia have agreed to host the Flames from September 3-5 en route to Ghana for the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations final round qualification first leg.

“According to the agreement, the Liberia FA will take care of the Flames delegation in terms of accommodation, meals and local transport and the team is expected to depart Monrovia for Ghana on September 5,” said Nyirenda.

He also said FAM is still trying to arrange another friendly with a neighbouring country on August 30 or 31.

“More details will be made public once the terms have been agreed,” said Nyirenda.
