Two children have died in Thyolo after being struck by lightning. Southern Region Police assistant public relations officer Beatrice Bwanali identified the deceased as Tineneni Robert, 11, and Fanny Mphaya, 5, both from Sani Village, Traditional Authority Nanseta in the district. “The two were chatting on the verandah when lightning hit them and they died on the spot. The bodies were then taken to Thyolo Hospital where postmortem conducted on the bodies revealed that death was due to electrocution by lightning,” Bwanali said. —Rodney Majawa, Malawi News Agency
