Lions warn Mimbulu on Cezobal title

African Bible College (ABC) Lions have warned Central Zone Basketball League (Cezobal) defending champions Mimbulu to expect a tight ride in this year’s championship.

Captain of the side, who has also been acting as coach for the team for a number of seasons before, Vincent Ngosi, said this at Civo Court on Saturday after winning 98-48 against Bayonnets.

The wide margin result has earned them the best team of the 2011/2012 Cezobal fixture accolade. They have finished on top of the table with 38 points and have qualified for the league’s plays-offs which determine the champions.

Lions, Mimbulu, Trojans and Disciples are meeting in the play-offs from Thursday.

“We are tired of being the league’s runners-up. We have missed the title to Mimbulu in the finals with a whisker three times and we are not happy with this. We want the record we have set on the log table to be spiced up with a cup and we are geared for Mimbulu.

“We will not tolerate any slips to the finals and at any time we will face Mimbulu, we will beat them. It is obvious on the fixture that we will meet with them again in the finals and they should expect a tough ride,” said Ngosi pointing out that their one time victory over them this season gives them the confident of beating them again.

Ngosi said, the team has few new faces and a new coach and they are playing as a team than before.
