“We are where we are today because of the school, hence the support,” he said.

Chigwembere pledged more support to the institution, saying they want to construct a brick fence and buy new desks for the school within the next three years.

Lirangwe CDSS head teacher Stanely Maseko said he was excited with the initiative.

In his remarks, Blantyre North legislator Francis Phiso (Democratic Progressive Party-DPP) said the alumni did a commendable job.

“We should not rely only on government to develop our communities; we have the capacity to do that,” he said.

Lirangwe CDSS Alumni Association was established last year and has over 100 members.
