Local colleges get set for Swaziland test

University of Malawi Staff Sports Association (Umssa) has organised Inter-college games at Luanars’ Bunda Campus on Saturday in Lilongwe in preparations for inter African Universities game to be held in December in Swaziland.

According to Umssa general secretary Herbert Mpando, games to be played include football, volleyball, netball, darts and bawo.

“We want to prepare well for the Swaziland games; hence, this tournament. College teams will compete against each other and their counterparts from Luanar who are hosting us in this event.

“On this event, we will also have a cultural night where colleges will showcase traditional dances of their preference. We expect guests from Luanar, University of Malawi and the corporate world,” said Mpando.

He has since urged all universities to put up their strong teams so as to have a successful representation in Swaziland.

Umssa is an association that comprises University of Malawi staff from Chancellor College, the Polytechnic, College of Medicine (CoM) and Kamuzu College of Nursing as well as staff from Luanar.
