The Malawi Public Universities Working Committee (PUWC) on Monday mandated the Lilongwe University of Agriculture and Natural Resources (Luanar) Board to start work. PUWC chairperson Ambassador Ron Nkomba said the board will start working on the infrastructure and the human resource development.

“The board will now start performing its functions so that the university opens as soon as possible. The first thing we would like the team to do is to work on the infrastructure and human resource because these are the most important areas,” said Nkomba.

He also presented equipment worth K60 million to the board to start operations. The board comprises Professor Zachary Kasomekera as chairperson as well as Professor Dorothy Namade, James Namphambo, Gilton Chiwaula and Elizabeth Sibale. —Steven Pembamoyo, Staff Reporter
