Lucius announces gospel album

Malawi’s music icon Lucius Banda has revealed that he is working on a gospel compilation album.
Gospel music has been part of Lucius albums since the start of his career and has been enjoyed by many fans in the country and across the region.
On Sunday, the legendary singer-songwriter said he will be compiling his gospel tracks into one CD to honour his fans who have for so long pleaded with him to do so.
Without disclosing the title, Lucius made the announcement via social media through his Facebook account to the delight of his followers.
“Good news to all my fans. For a long time, most of my fans who like my gospel songs have been pleading with me to put all the gospel tracks on one CD. I am pleased to say I am working on that,” said the musician who is fondly known as Soldier in the music circles.

In addition, the artist, who released his 18th album a year ago, disclosed: “…and I will just add one or two new songs to make it a complete new package.”
Lucius has since engaged his fans on the selection of the tracks that will make the compilation.
He asked his followers: “Please help me by choosing your favourite gospel track from my albums.”
Lucius also asked his followers to cite their favourite songs.
Commenting on the post, fans made suggestions and some of the songs topping the list were Menyereni Nkhondo, Samuel, Pharaoh, Anafera Iwe and Ayesu Adzabwera.
Some of Lucius’ previous albums include Son of a Poor Man released in 1995, Ceasefire released in 1997, Take Over in 1998, Following Jah released in 2000, Enemy of the State released in 2005, Survivor which came out in 2006, 15/15 My Song released in 2009 and Thank You released in 2014. 
