By way of introducing herself to the music industry, Bernadetta, a former Chikwawa Central legislator, this weekend launches her Yahwe album at Gymkhana Club in Zomba on Saturday and at Robin’s Park in Blantyre on Sunday. Lucius will only perform at Robin’s Park.

Bernadetta, who is married to gospel musician MacDonald Mlaka Maliro, said her launch seeks to bring a breath of fresh air to gospel music.

“Everything is new; new music, new artist, a new album and a new way of performance,” she said.

The artist said her decision to invite Lucius rests upon the Balaka North legislator’s contribution to her husband’s music career.

“Me and my husband take Lucius to be our father when it come to music because he is the one who promoted my husband and we have invited him to perform so that he bears witness to fact that his child has given birth to another child,” she said.

And on his part, Lucius said noted that it comes as no surprise that he is continuously being invited to perform at gospel shows.

“I think it high people understood that all along I have been both a gospel and secular artist. Actually, outside the country people who have heard my music classify me as a gospel artist. And I think even here in Malawi, people have come to realise that I’ve got the potential to perform at gospel shows,” he said.
