Malawi’s Afro-R&B singer Lawrence ‘Lulu’ Khwisa has released a new single, Thupi Lakana, off his upcoming album Ndakudziwa.

This is the third single after Ndzalela and Mponyere to be released by the artist signed to the Elegant Music stable.

The Ndakudziwa album was scheduled to be on the market on April 5 this year, but has been deferred to July. The label also released Ndzalela video, which is locally enjoying airplay on MBC.

Lulu’s latest album has a great presence in the line of storytelling. His voice and a combination of the storyline are captivating, which will rekindle the love for his music.

“All the 10 songs on the album were composed and recorded by the singer-cum-producer at Mathumela studio,” said public relations manager for Elegant Resources, Hastings Kimpho Loka.

The silky voice singer came in the limelight in the early 2000s when he released his pioneering R&B song Magwiragwira.

He released his debut album Mbambande in 2003, before dropping Kumalembe in 2008 and Sindilora in 2011.

Lulu has produced for many local musicians, including Lucius Banda, Mlaka Maliro, Skeffa Chimoto, Rejected and Dan Lu, just to mention a few.
