Chimwemwe Chiotcha will fight Juma Jack for the middle weight title.

Maba has also added another bout between Robert Kachiza and Stevie Maliko.

Apart from the belts, the winners in the 12-round title bouts will receive K250 000 while losers will get K200 000, according to Maba president Justice Katika.

“Our plan is to identify boxers to represent Malawi through these national title bouts,” he said.

There will also be amateur fights involving boxers from various regions.

Initially, Wilson Masamba and Mussa Ajibu were expected to top the bill, but they have been replaced with Kamanga and Nkhata, respectively.

Ajibu said he is not surprised with Maba’s decision because he is now with Malawi Professional Boxing Control Board (MPBCB).

“It is true that I am currently with MPBCB. I am not surprised on the development. I would have loved to be with Maba, but it is difficult to vie for World Boxing Council (WBC) titles if you are not under MPBCB,” he said.

Masamba also shared the same sentiment on his exclusion. n
