Macheza pool team on Saturday beat Queens Park in the final of K200 000 Shids day-long pool bonanza in Lilongwe.
It was a sweet revenge for Macheza after they lost to the same team with the same margin during group stage.
Edwin Dzimbiri was the hero of the day.
He outplayed Joe Kachepa in the last frame, which was a decider, as the scores were at 2-2.
As champions, Macheza, who booted out Infinity and Cool Sport 4-1 and 3-0 in the quarter-finals and semi-finals respectively to reach the final, received K60 000 while Queens Park got K40 000.
Macheza patron Susan Mphande was on cloud nine after the victory.
“This is a morale booster as we are starting the league soon. We have a youthful and promising side for the future of the sport in the region,” she said.
FIB beat Siege 3-1 to finish third. They received K30 000 while Siege got K20 000.
Sponsor Rashid Megha said he was delighted that the bonanza was violent-free.
He promised to come back with more sponsorship before sponsoring.
The tourney attracted 19 teams pooled into four groups.
Group winners qualified to the quarter-finals after playing a round robin format.
