If I were

Madonna

US pop star, I would realise that the dispute with the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology is emanating purely from communication breakdown.

If only I were Madonna, I would appreciate that the bickering does not auger well with my position as a global icon, hence the need to sort out the issue amicably.

How I wish I were the cute pop star, because I would also come out in the open to explain my position over reports that I built 10 schools across the country when the ministry’s claim is that I actually built 10 classroom blocks within existing government schools.

If only I were Madonna, I would also come out clear on why I abandoned my plans to construct a state-of-the-art girls’ school just outside Lilongwe.

Yes, while I am committed to helping the country’s education sector as evidenced by the construction of school blocks and the pledge to build a state-of-the-art girls school, it is important that I clear the differences I have with the ministry to avoid misconceptions.

I would also ensure that my personal differences with Anjimile Mtila-Oponyo do not affect my good intentions to help the country.

That is if only I were the lady that is Madonna Louise Ciccone. Unfortunately, I am not the global pop star.
