Mafikizolo to headline LOS
South African musical outfit, Mafikizolo, will be coming to Malawi next month as the headline act for the Lake of Stars (LOS) International Music Festival, it has been confirmed.
According to the LOS, the award-winning Afro pop, house and kwaito duo will headline performances on the opening night of the three-day festival to be held at Sunbird Nkopola Lodge in Mangochi from September 26 to 28.
“Mafikizolo SA are coming! We’re proud to reveal that SA’s finest will be playing Malawi for the first time at LOS on Friday 26th September,” announced the LOS organisers.
The LOS made the announcement through social media channels, Facebook and Twitter on Saturday morning.
The art and music fest returns to the shoreline after last year’s break from the lake as it was held in the capital city Lilongwe under the banner City of Stars.
Tickets to the festival are selling in advance at different points in Blantyre, Lilongwe, Mzuzu and Mangochi. A two-day ticket is K26 000 (US$63) while a three-day pass costs K31 000 (US$75).
Meanwhile, it has been announced that patrons can buy advance tickets to the festival at a discount via TNM Mpamba service.

Apart from Mafikizolo, other international artists who are billed to perform at the festival this year are hip-hop artists from Scotland, South Africa and Zambia, namely Stanley Odd, Reason and Zone Fam, as well as Zimbabwean singers Selmor Mtukudzi and Pearl Natasha.
Local artists unveiled so far are Skeffa Chimoto, Peter Mawanga, Piksy, Agorosso, Sally Nyundo and Body, Mind & Soul.
