Majawa short-listed for B-Mobile award
Forgotten Malawian midfielder Lawrence Tico-Tico Majawa has been short-listed for the 2012/2013 Botswana Mobile Premier League Player of the Season Award.
The Township Rollers defending midfielder is on the list of 10 players in contention for the award.
Majawa is the only player from Rollers nominated for the award, whose winner will be announced in June.
The former Wanderers midfielder has been outstanding, scoring vital goals for Rollers who are ninth on the log table.
One of his goals was recently nominated as the best goal of the week scored in an African League by Supersport TV channel.
Majawa has been a key figure for Rollers since he joined them in 2008 and helped them to win three league championship titles. He has twice been named Rollers’ Player of the Year.
However, despite his high ratings, Majawa has been continuously sidelined at Flames with former Flames coach Kinnah Phiri just giving him one game, a 2-1 friendly win over Namibia in 2011.
Flames caretaker coach Eddington Ng’onamo has promised to give opportunity to all players abroad who are performing well.
