As we continue with preparing for your wedding day, remember that healthy, clear skin makes the best base for your make-up.

For your eyes, choose colours that complement each other. Dark brown, tan, bronze, gold and lighter off-white colour can make a great neutral look, but don’t be afraid to use bright, bold colours like blues, purples, or greens, as long as they don’t overwhelm your skin, instead of enhancing. Line your eyes with brown or black eye pencil.

Mascara helps bring out the beauty of your eyes, therefore waterproof is the best, or wear false lashes if you are confident and comfortable enough.

Wedding lipstick should be matte finish with some lip-gloss on top for lasting lips. Sheer pinks with brown or burgundy gloss will look great on most African skin tones. Avoid bright red lipstick on your wedding day. Keep some lipstick and lip-gloss in the purse of your matron of honour for touch-ups throughout the day.

Enhance your cheeks with a darker colour of blush, such as brownish-red or a light plum. For a natural glow, sweep on a light layer of bronze or copper.
