Malawi’s gospel artist Bon records Account ya Moyo
Malawi’s gospel artist Bon Kavala Banda has finished recording his debut gospel album Account ya Moyo.
Banda, who made a name in secular music with Nyamule, turned to gospel in 2011.
The 31-year old artist said the album launch, which will be a double launch together with a DVD, will be held before April.
“I want to promote the album first before holding the launch. I don’t want to catch my fans off guard. They should have ample time to prepare for the big double launch,” said Banda.
The 12-track album, with all songs in Chichewa, was recorded at Groove Magic Studio in Blantyre and Sounds Splash in Area 23 Lilongwe.
Banda said he has no regrets dumping secular music.
“It is a calling from God which I want to fulfil,” said Banda.
The album has tracks such as Sindibwerera, Nkadakhala Ndani, Adam, Usandisokoneza and the title track Account ya Moyo.
