Malawi darts team claim bronze

Malawi darts team won bronze at the Zone VI championship which wound up on Saturday in South Africa.

The Malawi team, comprising veterans, men, women and juniors, is expected back today by road, said Darts Association of Malawi (DAM) general secretary Joe Zangazanga on Saturday.

The breakdown of the overall third-place finish, include men’s senior claiming bronze, behind second-placed Zimbabwe and champions South Africa.

The veterans impressed in finishing second, their success epitomised by Judith Gondwe and Kaipa’s seizure of silver in mixed pairs category.

For the youth, there was another bronze from Kondwani Kachala and Thokozani Nyambose. Angella Zimba finished third in women open singles whereas Kaipa hit bronze in the men’s side of the singles. Kachala and Nyambose replicated their form in youth closed singles.

Another Malawian, Atany Kaipa, shared bronze in a mixed trebles side of Tswana Moirwe and Sotho Manyane. Kaipa was to make another bronze for men closed singles for veterans.
