Lack of leaders of integrity saw the country plunging into the famous Cashgate, Reverend Zacc Kawalala of Word Alive International Church has said.

Kawalala challenged both the politicians and the clergy during the recent ‘Dynamic Leaders and Gate Keepers Forum’ that lack of knowledge was not an excuse before God as well as courts of law.

Said Kawalala: “We have Cashgate cases because we do not have responsible gatekeepers. If all accounts clerks were gatekeepers of integrity, we would not have Cashgate cases at Capital Hill. We have to keep our righteousness no matter where we are.

“Every leader must have a mentor if you are to build your future. Leadership bankruptcy is Malawi’s most problems.”

The workshop that drew church management, politicians, business community, and the Judiciary, was aimed at equipping the participants developing integrity at their workplaces and helping them, live their faith.

He said leaders have to maintain their integrity wherever they are and not only during Sunday service gatherings.

“Preachers preach to 10 percent of the community population and this message is going out to the community out there. This is the way of spreading the gospel so that as Christians, we live our faith,” said Kawalala. n
