Malawi Queens left the country this afternoon for Windhoek, Namibia ahead of Pent series and Africa Netball Cup from November 1 to 16.

They are also expected to take part in the Tri-Nations Tournament in England between November 22 and 29.

Upon departure at Chileka International Airport in Blantyre, the national netball team coach Peace Chawinga-Kaluwa said they are confident of bringing home the International trophies.

“We are well-prepared for the events and we are ready to make the country proud,” she said.

At least 32 players, mostly up-and-coming, were called into camp at Malawi Armed Forces College (Mafco) in Salima but 15 players made it into the final squad.

Queens’ captain Carol Mtukule-Ngwira pleaded with Malawians to keep them in prayers as they fight on the International stage.

Malawi Queens will contest in the Pent Series alongside Botswana, Kenya, Namibia, Uganda, Zamba and Zimbabwe between November 1 and 5 before proceeding to the Africa Netball Cup between November 9 and 16. The event will see hosts Namibia welcoming Malawi, Botswana, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Tanzania, Kenya and Uganda.
