Malawi as a God-fearing nation should obey God on issues concerning, same-sex marriages, abortion and witchcraft.

Vice-president of the Blantyre Keswick Convention Apostle Raphael Chikwakwa said this on Wednesday night during the on-going convention that started on Monday.

We believe Malawi is a Christian country and that we should obey what the Bible says on things that oppress Malawians before making decisions on such matters,” said Chikwakwa.

President Peter Mutharika was recently quoted as saying the country’s stand on issues of same-sex marriages should be decided by Malawians.

Chikwakwa said abortion is against the will of God.

He said women faced with complications should seek medical attention on time to be assisted accordingly, but abortion should not be the priority.

The convention, which ended on Friday, was being spiced up by singing by choral groups, including the Blantyre Joint Choir.
