Malawi to host Lake Carnival

Imagine, relaxing on the beaches of the crystal clear Lake Malawi and enjoying sumptuous local food while listening to nice and slow acoustic music.

This is how the last three days of December will be as Jam Networks has announced the first-ever Lake Malawi Carnival.

“The Lake Malawi Carnival to run from  December 29 to 31 will be an exciting three-day cultural explosion of Malawi music, cuisine, arts exhibition, water-related games, boat cruising on both engine boats and canoes as well as visual and performing arts,” said Kennedy Nkombezi of Jam Networks.

He said the event scheduled for Salima is a full package for both the young and the old.

“So many festivals have happened in the country but arguably, they are attended by the same people. We want people to come with their children as there are a lot of activities for all ages,” Nkombezi said.

He added that they have line-up a number of activities such as music performances and children play area.

There will also be traditional foods such as kholowa, nkhwani and all local vegetables seasoned with groundnuts flour will be available for people. While a line-up of artists will be announced soon, Nkombezi mentioned that international musicians from Zimbabwe, South Africa and Jamaica will attend the event.
