Zambia pulled a stunning 55-41 victory over Botswana yesterday morning to date Malawi today (Wedsnesday) in a battle for the 2013 Africa Netball Championship semi-final berth.

The winner of today’s pool A match at the Blantyre Youth Centre would qualify for the semi-final as top team.

Two top teams from each pool will advance to the semi-final.

In pool B, a win for South Africa today against Swaziland will see them through after the Spar Proteas shrugged off Namibia in an earlier match at the same venue yesterday.

South Africa could be joined in the last four by Uganda, who justified their five-day public transport travel to Malawi with a 69-38 beating of Swaziland.

Uganda take on Namibia in the last match for today. The She Cranes coach Bogere Nelson is hoping to be rewarded for enduring the long trip to Malawi via Tanzania.

“Of course, there is some tiredness, but what can we do? We want to prove a point that we can do it and we will,” Nelson said in a post-match interview on Tuesday.
