Branded ‘Gospel Greats Festival’, the November 4 show will feature the Great Angels Choir, Allan Chirwa, Marching Soldiers, Peter Uyu Mulangeni, Limbani Simenti and Evance Watsopano Meleka.

According to a statement from organisers, the event will bring Christmas festivities to three orphanages in all regions.

Tamara Chafunya of Timeline Communications said in a press statement it also comes in recognition of the support Malawians render to gospel music which is on the rise.

“As partners, we monitored the turnout at various gospel shows and this could be an opportunity to add value to this family outing. We would like to use the opportunity to make a difference in the lives of orphans,” said Chafunya.

Her firm is co-funding the event with Airtel, Air Malawi, Sana Cash & Carry, 7 Eleven, City Mall Supermarkets, Blockbuster Electronics and Antelope Multimedia Solutions.

With tickets being sold by Airtel agents, the show will see lucky patrons winning an Air Malawi ticket to South Africa, Sana Cash & Carry shopping vouchers and a K50 000 deposit courtesy of Airtel Money.
