This is the first time the Flames will be travelling with a media officer.
Making the donation at FAM’s Chiwembe Technical Centre offices in Blantyre on Wednesday, Malawian Airlines traffic and sales manager Rodwell Magwaya said sponsored Zakazaka’s trip to ensure the Flames get full coverage of the tournament.
“We are a national carrier and the Flames are equally flag carriers and, as such, we would want the nation to be kept informed about Malawi’s exploits through Zakazaka’s updates to the local media.
FAM finance and administration manager Chris Mdolo thanked Malawian Airlines for the gesture, saying it will help fans follow the Flames in detail.
A journalist by training with nine years’ experience in mainstream sports journalism, Zakazaka will be writing for FAM’s website; www.fam.mw, FAM Facebook page and twitter account @FaMalawi.
He will also be preparing reports, doing radio and TV interviews which will be circulated to the local media.
