Malawian midfielder Raquub ‘Lulu’ Milanzi is undergoing two-week trials with Kenya Premier League side Tusker FC.

In a telephone interview from Kenya on Tuesday, Milanzi, who was until mid last season for Civo United, confirmed that he was trying his luck with the Nairobi side.

“I came here last week and started the trials on Thursday. The coach [Robert Matano] seems impressed, but let us wait and see after the trials. I came here through some well-wishers,” said Milanzi.

Matano said it was too early for him to give an assessment of Lulu who once had a successful spell in Zimbabwe at Caps United.

“Why are you so concerned with him? He has just been with us for two days. We will give him a chance for two weeks,” said Matano.

Tusker are ninth on the 16-member Kenya league on 13 points.

No Malawian player has ever played in the Kenya league. The late Reuben Malola must have been the last Malawian to coach FC Leopards in the 1990s.

Lulu, who is a free agent, has one cap with the Flames. He also played for the Under-23 in 2006.
