Malawians cannot trust PP—PPM

The People’s Progressive Movement (PPM) says Malawians are not children to trust a party such as the governing PP that has no clear-cut manifesto ahead of the 2014 elections.

PPM publicity secretary Redson Munlo said this recently at a rally the party held at kwa Golden football ground in Mulanje Central Constituency.

“PP should tell us what they have in store for Malawians come 2014. Do they want to sell us, kill us maybe?” he said.

Munlo said during the Mgwirizano Coalition his party played second fiddle and paved the way for Bingu wa Mutharika in the 2009 elections.

But he said since each leader who comes ‘disappoints’, PPM will field a candidate in 2014 to rescue Malawians from thieves and witches that have been terrorising Malawians.

He accused PP of being the same UDF of 1993, saying the people in the party have nothing new to offer Malawians.

PPM secretary general Wellington Chatepa, who also spoke at the rally, said Malawians should be vigilant to check rigging during the 2014 elections.
