Malawi’s largest sports bar on the cards
Malawi will in June have its biggest sports bar courtesy of entertainment mogul Jam Kaunda.
The bar, currently being put up in Lilongwe adds the number of his up-market entertainment joints to four after Zanzi Club, Diplomats and recently the Living Room.
“Everything is under control, now, we are doing final touches on the wall surroundings. Some of the big screen TVs to be mounted in the bar are already in the country. It will have the capacity of 100 people who will be enjoying different games such as tennis, football, netball, rugby, cricket among others, shown live on screen,” he said.
“The bar should be the biggest possibly in southern Africa and will be ready in mid-June behind Zanzi Club in the same building hosting the Living Room. The idea of having three different entertainment venues is to create an entertainment hub where people come early and leave late,” added Kaunda.
So far, Malawi has about four sports bars namely Sportsman’s at Mount Soche Hotel, TJ’s Bar and Castle Sports Bar all in Blantyre and Alexander’s in Lilongwe.
