Burial of the late Gaudensio Maluza, the brain behind the upmarket residential Kanengo Northgate Project in Lilongwe, takes place today at M’Mbalamanja Village in T/A Nankumba, Monkey Bay.

According to family sources, the funeral ceremony will start at noon.

Maluza, an enterprising local entrepreneur, died at Mwaiwathu Private Hospital in Blantyre on Monday after an illness. He was 55.

Before venturing into the business world, Maluza—a Chancellor College graduate and holder of an MBA—worked as a journalist and marketing officer with Blantyre Newspapers Limited. He later worked for the then David Whitehead and Sons Limited in the sales department.

He founded Tayamba General Dealers Limited—supplying various items to the farming and corporate sectors; and Tirigu Investments supermarkets in some parts of the country before venturing into consultancy.

He is survived by a wife and three children.

Meanwhile, thousands of mourners who included friends, business associates and fellow parishioners yesterday thronged the newly-built St. Montfort Catholic Parish Cathedral (C.I) in Blantyre, where mass was held for Maluza.

M’Mbalamanja Village is situated on the right hand side along the Mangochi-Monkey Bay Road, shortly after the Mtakataka Turn Off (known as the Indebank Stage).
