MAM acoustic show at Arts Café

Musicians Association of Malawi (MAM) Southern Chapter will hold an acoustic show at Nanzikambe Arts Café tomorrow. The show will feature such artists such as Snowden Ibu, Dikamawoko, Ras Mix, Jimmy Wii, John Suluma ,Francis Chimtembo, Mike Kalombola and Upile Cultural Troupe.

The event is being held in preparation for a big show which will take place on October 12 at Blantyre Cultural Centre.

MAM Southern Chapter president Patrick Simakweli said the two shows aim at unearthing up-and-coming artists and hidden talent.

“People only know established artists, but I think it’s high time they get to know other talented artists,” he said.

Simakweli said his association is in dialogue with Carlsberg and Ministry of Culture and Tourism over possible sponsorship.

He appealed to all musicians from the South to register with the association,

He said this will help the association reach out to all musicians effectively regardless of their state of membership.
