Her first show will be at Mungo Park in the capital, Lilongwe on Saturday evening and the last will be on Sunday afternoon at Tilipano Leisure Centre.

“All is set for Mampi’s second show in Malawi in months. It is going to be a show to remember for Lilongwe revellers for it is going to be bigger and better than the first one. She arrives Friday around 3:45pm through Kamuzu International Airport [in Lilongwe],” said Phindu Promotions director Abel Kumwenda.

The Zambian singing sensation, whose current popular track in Malawi is Walinowelela, is set to share the stage with some local musicians, according to Kumwenda.

“Lucius Banda and his Zembani Band as well as Skeffa Chimoto are some of the musicians fans should look forward to during this show. It is our wish to bring many African greats in the music circles and sure we will make it,” he said.

In August, Mampi’s trip was marred by a scandal where she nearly got stranded after uncertainty surrounded her missing K300 000 (about $1 000) being payment for her performance. Musician Wendy Harawa was implicated. She was; however, given back her money by her trip’s promoter Phindu Promotions.

Her new trip to Malawi is by public demand, according to Kumwenda.

In an earlier interview, Mampi’s manager Victoria Chembe said: “It is going to be more exciting than the first trip, it will be wicked and in fact, we cannot wait to get back to Malawi to perform. We are glad that Phindu Promotions has invited us once more.
