Man arrested for defilement
Police in Luchenza-Thyolo have arrested a primary school teacher, Maxwell Donsa, for allegedly defiling and impregnating a 15-year-old girl.
According to Thyolo Police Publicist Edith Kachotsa, the girl who is an orphan, was living with the suspect, Donsa, 44, and his wife who is the victim’s aunt.
Kachotsa said since August last year, Donsa has been sexually abusing the girl and intimidating her that if she tells anyone about the ordeal, she would be sent to her home village.
“When she went to the village for holiday, relatives noticed that she was pregnant and when questioned she revealed the matter,” said Kachotsa.
The matter was then reported to police who later arrested Donsa.
Maxwell Donsa hails from Ndenguma village in the area of Traditional Authority Malemia in Zomba.
He will appear before court soon to answer the case of defilement.
