Man arrested for defiling half-wit

Police in Ntchisi last week arrested 40-year-old Jossam Manda of Nthambalero Village, T/A Chikho in Ntchisi, for allegedly defiling an 18-year-old female imbecile.
According to Fraser Kamboyi, an officer at Ntchisi Police Station, the incident occurred at Kadatseka Village on May 20 when the victim was returning from watching a football match.
Kamboyi said Manda promised to give the girl K300 (US$0.7) after the act but he defaulted on his promise and instead demanded more sex.
“As he was negotiating with the girl, two of the victim’s brothers appeared on the scene and the suspect fled,” explained Kamboyi.
Mzandu Health Centre confirmed the defilement and Manda was arrested the following day after the matter was reported to Ntchisi Police Station.
He will appear in court soon to answer defilement charges.
