Police in Ntchisi have arrested a 21-year-old man for allegedly defiling her year-old daughter.  Ntchisi Police spokesperson Gladson M’bumpha said the suspect, Mateyu Kaputa, defiled her child when her wife had gone to do some piecework at a nearby village on March 7 this year. M’bumpha said: “When the wife came back at 12pm to breastfeed the child, she found her in the hands of the husband and that she was naked and bleeding. The suspect failed to explain what he was doing with the child.” He said the matter was reported to Mwangala Police Unit and that a medical examination at Mwangala Health Centre confirmed that the girl was defiled. Kaputa comes from Nandeta Village in the district. —DYSON MTHAWANJI, Staff Writer
