Swaziland football premiership side Manzini Wanderers have parted ways with Malawian coach Charles Manda, reported that country’s Observer newspaper on Monday.

Despite the former Mighty Wanderers coach insisting that he was still head coach, a press statement from Manzini published by the Observer indicates that the Mbabane side officially unveiled Gcina ‘Magiyane’ Dlamini as its new mentor.

“The technical director, Manzini Wanderers FC and Charles Manda have mutually agreed not to extend his engagement as coach of the club, such decision is with immediate effect,” reads the statement.

Manda leaves without a win in four games. Manzini lost after penalty shootouts in the Charity Cup preliminary round against Royal Leopards while it was the same story in the Castle Premier Challenge, losing to Green Mamba.

The team also suffered more setback when they were held to a 1-all draw by RSSC United on Monday night.

But in an interview on Saturday, the former Football Association of Malawi (FAM) technical officer dismissed reports that he had been fired over poor results.

“I am still the head coach. It’s just that we had a general meeting on how we can improve the team’s performance. Many things were discussed and others might have leaked such reports, but it is not true,” said Manda in a telephone interview.

In an earlier interview on Wednesday last week, Manda admitted that he was coaching a big side in Swaziland of the stature of either Big Bullets or Mighty Wanderers and that fans demand nothing short of results.

  1. And here he left without following procedures (both at FAM and Nomads) as if he will never come again. He left his name in mad and if he comes back, who would risk employing such an unprofessional person. Ukakwera mumtengo….. asova
