Manda lands new job to reunite with Mlozi
Malawian coach Charles Manda has landed a new job at another Swaziland Premiership side Malanti Chiefs; reuniting with compatriot Diverson Mlozi, after being sacked by Manzini Wanderers.
The former Escom United coach, whose last job in Blantyre was at Mighty Wanderers, is finally finding his feet at Chiefs having registered his first 2-0 win on Friday over his former employers Manzini Wanderers.
He was fired at Manzini Wanderers after failing to register a win in three games of two draws and a loss. However, things are looking rosy at Chiefs after Friday’s result, according to Swaziland’s Observer newspaper.
“No, it is not a sweet victory but I’ll rather say the rejected stone has become a cup stone. I’m happy with the determination shown by my players and they’ve got confidence. It was not an easy win and Wanderers gave us a good run,” Manda is quoted as saying.
And to cap the fine afternoon in what was his first win in two games since being unveiled three weeks ago, Mlozi also registered his first goal for Chiefs at the Somhlolo National Stadium since signing from Big Bullets.
Manda replaced at Chiefs Zambian coach Texan Phiri who joined the team at the beginning of the season.
