After jostling for almost five years to produce the best, seasoned gospel artist Maggie Mangani this Sunday heads to Mlambe Motel in Balaka to launch her much-awaited Mundiyendere DVD.

The Lilongwe-based gospel songster will be credited for being among the country’s few crowd-pulling artists from outside Balaka district to have their albums launched there.

Mangani: This launch will be an appreciation

Mangani will be supported by The Great Angels Choir, Favoured Martha, Allan Chirwa, Michael Kasito and Martha Mituka.

In an interview, she said she decided to launch her DVD in Balaka as a “pure a vote of thanks” to music lovers in the district.

Balaka is well-known for producing some of the country’s most talented and highest selling musicians.

“Despite being a Lilongwe-based artist, I discovered I also have a huge fan base in the Eastern Region,” she said.

One of the supporting artists Favoured Martha said she was set to give out her best to Balaka people.

She said: “Besides, July 6 is my birthday so this will be a double gala for me. This launch will be an appreciation for what the people of Balaka do whenever we are there.”

Mangani’s first music video album is titled Zatha Zonse but it is her second Chisomo Chake N’chokwanira that propelled her into the gospel music arena.

The Mundiyendere DVD was made possible with the expertise of four different Lilongwe-based producers in Shadie mal, Bon-tek, Premo Visuals and Epikoncept .
