As one way of promoting culture, Maseko Ngoni Lilongwe Chapter has established a branch at Chomveka Village in Lumbadzi.

Speaking during the occasion, the Lilongwe chapter chairperson Andrew Kamlopa thanked the Chewa in the Central Region for tolerating other tribes to promote their cultures.NGONI CULTURE | The Nation Online

“I would like to express my gratitude to group village head [GVH] Kulamule for allowing other cultural groups to practice and promote their cultures within his area,” he said.

Kamlopa further asked Ngonis living in Lumbadzi and surrounding areas to help Kulamule in preserving their way of life.

“Let’s work hard in promoting culture so that our children should know where they are coming from,” he said.

Kamlopa added that Ngonis and Chewas are one, therefore there is no reason for the two groups to live in hostility.

GVH Kulamule warned his subjects against cultural isolation and confrontations.

“We are one big family. We may differ in our cultural beliefs but let us live in harmony and peace while enjoying our diversity for the betterment of generations to come,” said the traditional leader.

He further said he is happy that there is co-existence within cultures in the area and advised people to continue doing so.
