The World Taekwondo Federation (WTF) has appointed national coach Lovemore Masinga as Global Membership Systems (GMS) licence and team event registration administrator.

“On October 6, WTF projects manager for Global Athletes Licence and Global Membership Systems, Justin Tenbeth, and WTF group members e-mailed me saying I have been approved. I am now a WTF staff,” said Masinga on Thursday.

He will be responsible for registering and recommending local athletes for international competitions organised by African Taekwondo Union (AFTU) and WTF starting from January 2013.

He said his appointment has come about following WTF’s change in administration in all of its international events such as the registration of athletes online and providing global licences to participating athletes.

“Starting from January 1 2013, athletes and teams will be registered online to participate in international competitions organised by the WTF or AFTU and I will be the one doing this in the country,” said Masinga.
